Russia’s Yandex agrees to implement IT solutions at Kamaz trucks

MOSCOW, Aug 24 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Yandex and Kamaz have signed a framework agreement on cooperation to adapt certain services of the Internet company to trucks, Yandex said Wednesday in a statement.

“In teamwork with Kamaz specialists, Yandex will work on several directions. They include adaptation of Yandex services for automobiles, taking into account specific features of trucks, implementation of voice control over the vehicle’s multimedia system and its integration with a mobile device,” the Internet giant said.

“We also mean the creation of highly-accurate maps and solutions for semi-automatic control, based on a set of technologies of the Yandex artificial intelligence: computer vision, machine learning and speech technologies.”

A Yandex spokesperson said the Internet company is holding negotiations with several car producers and could sign more agreements by the end of 2016.

Earlier, Yandex installed its navigator and browser services in a multi-media Android system of the Toyota Camry Exclusive and the navigator service in Honda’s cars.
